it's that time of the year to do a recap of my past 365 days spent.
2009 was a great year for me and i fully appreciate all the good things that have come to me. I'm truely thankful. THANK YOU!
i sincerely hope 2010 will be as good, if not better.
I still hope that what i've been hoping continue to stand true, please!
and so, now to my new year's resolutions!
- exercise everyday, or at least once every second day
- curb my appetite, eat less and healthy! no more a box of chocolates in one go!
- become less orb
- spend more time with parents, go out more, be more sociable
- further unveil the housewiveliness in me :)
- graduate! with great marks!
- continue to work harder and make more money & learn something new!
- fate isn't really something i can control so i can't really call it a resolution, maybe just get myself emotionally focused on moving on instead of sitting around enjoying being by myself.
- get my Ps!
- grow my hair long!
TADA, have a great NYE everyone and shall see you soon in 2010 :)

Today, i sit here shedding tears of joy together with you. You've won! Finally, you've proven to everyone who ever doubted, that those years which you endured only made you better. You never once wavered from your initial goal to be the JX i knew and the JX i admired.
It's only been a year. There's still 5-1 years left before we can officially say goodbye to the past and move on into the future, the future we yearn for.
I hope that we can get to that time, that time when i can tell you that i can be as strong as you. The time when i can tell you that i've lived my life without any regrets and most importantly, i'm still together with that one person that is the only thing i care about in this 5-1 years.
Congrats! and you're forever beautiful and strong in my heart!
Please root for me as baby J grows up to be Miss Independent.
I know you wouldn't want me to grow up this soon but that time has to come and i'm stuck here with only one pathway lying infront of me. all that i can do is follow it and take big steps forward.
If only i could turn back time?

with internship to begin just around the corner (i can see it already!), it's time to start stocking a few business attire. i'm lacking in every aspect of what makes up a business wear- shoes (flat and heeled), pants, skirts, blouses, jackets. the only one thing that i may just have an abundance available is --> stockings! it's summer-time so i don't think i'm really needing it.
the plan is to start sourcing next week and hopefully, by the end of next week, i would have gotten everything i need/want. and so, the dear mom and me are going to go on a shopping spree on Boxing Day! Yeah for bargain-hunting!
mine.

memories are great, but i can't live on them forever, can i?
there just has to be D-day when you let go and move on from your habit.

POST NO. 1
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 7:25 PM

'You're Beautiful' has officially ended with its mere 16 episodes (why wasn't it long-er?) and boy, did i love that drama. it has been a while since my emotions were played up by the plot of a k-drama. the last drama to do that for me was probably HYD earlier this year (LOL). With
'You're Beautiful' already gone, it's now time for me to find another k-drama to fill up that time slot. HEHE!
I've got three strong choices to pick from.
Choice no. 1 -->
'IRIS' starring Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Hee, Jung Joon Ho, TOP (from Big Bang). Honestly speaking, just the name puts me off. The name Iris and me never really got along. teehee.
'Iris' is going really strong at the moment in the ratings department, averaging at around the 30% mark i believe. For those who don't really bother with k-drama ratings, 30% is a massive result, making Iris at least a top 3 ranked drama of the week.
'Iris' is probably a drama that i will watch later when the DVD comes out and just coincidentally, i've got spare time on my hands to sit and go through the drama. I've given it chances- watched the first episode and read recaps of first few episodes and frankly, it's just not a drama that does anything for me. The stellar cast doesn't interest me and neither is the plot my cup of tea. So, it can take a backseat for now. There are other dramas that i'm more interested in at the moment.
Choice no. 2 -->
'HERO' starring LEE JUNKI. teehee. there's no need to include any other casts. Just that one name does it for me. It's a must-watch drama for me and definitely one i will enjoy. Lee Junki was and still is my all time fave k-drama actor. He's the guy that got me started with k-dramas and his acting does everything for me, way more than i initially thought it would. HAHA.
'HERO' follows a comedy-action genre whose charm lies more in its witty dialogues which may explain the low ratings it's getting at the moment. It's no surprise when your competitor (IRIS) is giving you dominant visual effects in the form of bombs, killings, terrorism etc. HERO's plot revolves around Korea's top reporters and ordinary citizens fighting against social inequalities. Jin Do Hyuk (lee Jun Ki) plays a journalist working in a 3rd rate newspaper publisher. He lost his parents at an early age. Do Hyuk's dad used to be a successful journalist working in the prestigious 'Dae Sae IIbo' and it is also Do Hyuk's dream to be just like his dad. BUT, because of his poor financial situation, Do Hyuk was unable to attend college which created a temp. roadblock for him. This also explains why he finds himself stuck in a 3rd rate newspaper publishing firm- 'Monday Seoul' (doesn't sound like a 3rd rate publishing firm to me?' Despite being in a not too great firm, Do Hyuk still works with passion and uses any means necessary to cover a story.
Now, the girl that he has to romance in the drama (urgh)- Joo Jae In (Yoon So Yi). Jae In lost her father at an early age. Her dad was a police officer and here she is now, also a police officer. And she's no ordinary police officer- she's got passion and she graduated at the top of her class in the police academy. She's got a crush on the entire opposite to Do Hyuk in his intial days- Kang Hae Sung who well, works for 'Dae Sae IIbo'- the firm Do Hyuk would love to be working for. Kang Hae Sung is initially portrayed as a successful character- he's a highly respected Dae Sae IIbo journalist who is currently dating Choi Ho Kyung, the daugher of Choi II Doo, the president of parent company Dae Sae Corporation. Choi II Doo has a connection with Ho Kyung. Choi views Ho kyung somewhat like his right hand man. Often, Ho Kyung will spin news stories to favour II Doo and the Dae Sae Corporation. II Doo hopes Hae Syung will one aday become his son-in-law. But, Hae Syung notices Jae In and Do Hyuk becoming closer as the plot develops. It's not long in the drama before we realize the dark side of Hae Syung.
After the build-up of the first few episodes, Do Hyuk finds himself starting hiw own newspaper. His partner in business is former mobster Jo Yong Deuok, a former leader of the Twin Ax gang who had recently finished his 15 year jail sentence. On the day of his release, he finds Do Hyuk the only journalist awaiting him outside of the prison and decides to start his own newspaper together with Do Hyuk and the story will develop from there.
I'm up to eight episodes so far and am loving it. ^^ I would love to be able to contain myself from watching it because the wait is really agonizing. Waiting for a week for two episodes is just plain torture! can't wait till the DVD is released when i can watch the whole thing from beginning to end.
I WILL LEAVE MY LEE JUNKI ACTING EVALUATION TILL I FINISH THE DRAMA.
I oh so have to mention this: he really looks so good! HAHA. Sometimes i really have to face palm in embarassment at my superficiality. teehee.
choice no. 3 -->
'Will it Snow this Christmas?'- starring Go Soo, Han Ye Seul, a melodrama. i quite like melodrama but it has to have the right ingredients to hit the right notes for me. In the case of 'Will it Snow this Christmas?', after three episodes of it, i think i like it enough to continue watching it. The writer of 'Will it snow this Christmas?' incidentally is the writer of 'I'm sorry but i love you'- which was a big-bang success but i never quite enjoyed and was abit lost as to what the fuss was about... the plot is about Cha Kang Jin (love the name HAHA, played by Go Soo) who has never met his father and wanders from city to city with his mother, a barmaid. He's been through several changes of schools as a student and thus, teachers at each of his new school assume that he's going to be a problematic child. He's not a bad boy, he's actually REALLY intelligent but the source of his problem is that it's hard for him to control his temper and thus always gets into fights. His heart was always tightly closed from the outside world until he falls in love with Han Ji-wan (Han Ye Seul) , a pure-hearted and cheerful girl from a rich family.
However, despite both having feelings for each other, they have to part because of the departure of Ji-wan's brother. The thing is this: Kang Jin has confessed his love for Ji-wan on their last meeting but burdened by the grief of the death of her brother, Ji-wan flatly states that she doesn't like him and even more, she breaks his heart by declaring she's disgusted by people of his type.
This is my problem with melodrama beginning its first few episodes depicting memories of the passionate first love in their childhood days. I get so caught up in those times, in that simple yet so un-touchable romance between those two characters that when the adults come into the scene, i lose that bit of emotion. urgh. i absolutely love the first two episodes. they've casted the childhood days portraying actors well! In episode 3, we are then introduced to the adult characters. Honestly speaking, i never knew Go Soo actually could be quite goodlooking and neither did i realize his acting capability coupled with those expressive eyes. the only drama i've seen him in is a drama that i can't remember the name to - it's about how he's hopelessly in love with his high school classmate and the acting wasn't that impressive either- and so, i stopped even before halfway of the drama. I can't really comment on Han Ye Seul yet because i'm still lost as to what her character is supposed to be about. It was shocking when suddently she was engaged and in LOVE with a guy whom she was pretty distant to in the last meeting.
